The MBTA Transit Police are on the lookout for an individual connected to two separate assault and battery incidents that took place earlier this month. The assaults, which transpired within a span of 15 minutes from each other on July 14 around 4:30 p.m., took place on the MBTA Downtown Crossing (DTC) station. In a social media plea, authorities have released images and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect.
According to a tweet from the MBTA Transit Police, the suspect allegedly spat on one victim and physically assaulted another, a 69-year-old woman, without provocation. The unsettling nature of these acts, notably against an elderly individual, underscores a concerning level of boldness and a disregard for the well-being of fellow transit riders.
