Residents and commuters in Medford, brace yourselves for a month of lane and road closures that may test your patience and add minutes, or even hours, to your daily journeys. Starting on July 7 and continuing through August 8, 2025, a series of infrastructure improvement projects will be impacting traffic throughout the city. As reported by Medford's official website, these closures are due to necessary road maintenance, utility installations, and other critical infrastructure upgrades.

The thoroughfare of Table Rock Road, from N. Pacific Highway to north of Merriman Road will see lane closures as One Way Trigger LLC undertakes fog sealing operations on July 7, from the early hours of 2 am to the late afternoon at 4 pm. The same goes for Merriman Road, W. Main Street, Stewart Avenue, and several other key routes. With flaggers and traffic controls in place, city dwellers are advised to account for these disruptions when planning their day.

It's not just the roads that are getting a makeover. Utility work will also play a major role in the upcoming traffic saga. Avista Utilities will be busy installing new gas valves on Crater Lake Avenue, with closures mapped out from July 7-18, while two different stretches of Stewart Avenue will suffer similar fates due to fog sealing works. Furthermore, C-2 Utility Service, on behalf of CenturyLink Communications, will cause closures on North Riverside Avenue and Court Street during the first week of July for fiber installations.

For those relying on power from Pacific Power, be prepared for disruptions as Christenson Electric Inc. installs new power poles along Capitol Avenue and Windsor Avenue. These tasks will necessitate southbound lane closures on July 9 and 10. Summoning the night, Morello Construction will be out after dark from July 9 - 11, on Springbrook Road, installing overhead fiber lines for Hunter Communications, thus causing northbound lanes to close under moonlit skies.

Additionally, Medford's roadscape sees significant reshaping with the closure of Springbrook Road from Hondeleau Lane to Coker Butte Road, as part of a public improvement plan. Johnny Cat construction will commandeer the road, starting as early as July 7, to repair the sub-base and is not expected to relinquish its grip until August 8. Other long-term closures include Delta Waters Road, for sanitary sewer line repairs by Pilot Rock Construction, which will be a nighttime operation lasting till August 1.

To mitigate traffic tangles, detours and additional signage will be employed where necessary, especially in areas like Berrydale Avenue and Howard Avenue where Knife River crews gear up to pave the roads.
