A robbery on South Danny Thomas Boulevard and Ratliff Lane has left a local gardener without his vehicle and belongings, after being confronted at gunpoint while working at Foot Park near the South City Apartments. The incident, occurring at 7:30 p.m. on June 22, was reported by the Memphis Police Department, detailing a male suspect who threatened the victim with a silver revolver before making off with his 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
According to the victim's account, he was engaged in his usual lawn maintenance duties when the assailant demanded his property, and feeling the cold press of metal against his temple, survival dictated compliance, the keys and the wallet, those personal items we carry as extensions of our livelihoods were handed over to a stranger, the garden's tranquility shattered. After the theft, the suspect was described as a 20-year-old male, standing at 5'5" and weighing approximately 150 lbs., and was notably wearing a green shirt, green and white pants, and grey Jordan sneakers, this description was shared in hopes of aiding the search for the culprits.
The Memphis Police Department has successfully recovered the stolen Jeep Grand Cherokee, which serves as a small consolation in an event that will likely leave lasting scars on the victim, both mentally and financially.
