
Memphis Police are investigating a criminal vandalism incident at Chelsea Food & Fuel on Saturday around 1 p.m. Surveillance video shows two suspects throwing lit fireworks over the counter, starting a fire and filling the store with smoke. A clerk was hit by the fireworks while helping a customer, as reported by Action News 5.
Officers arrived at the scene at 1:06 a.m., as mentioned by FOX13 Memphis. An employee called law enforcement, prompting an immediate investigation. No injuries were reported.
Surveillance footage showed suspects throwing fireworks at Chelsea Food & Fuel before fleeing the scene. Memphis Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH, as per WREG. The incident caused damage and remains under investigation.
