
Memphis police are searching for an individual linked to a car theft in the 600 block of Saint Paul Avenue. Between the evening hours of Monday and the morning of Tuesday, a red 2020 Hyundai Elantra was reported stolen by the victim. According to the Memphis Police Department's report, the vehicle was later seen near Mendenhall Road and Knight Arnold Road, where a Black male was spotted driving the car.
When officers came to intercept, the suspect led them on a pursuit after refusing the order to stop. Running armed with a handgun, the driver exited the Hyundai before eventually fleeing on foot. Having been recovered, the vehicle was towed to a storage lot for further investigation.
The authorities are now urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in identifying the suspect. Reports indicate that he may have been involved in other criminal activities across Memphis and Shelby County. The incident raises broader concerns about vehicle thefts and associated crimes in the region.
