Memphis police are on the lookout for a suspect involved in a burglary at First Choice Storage, located at 4271 Raleigh Lagrange Road, which took place on the morning of June 20. According to a report from the Memphis Police Department, an unknown Black male allegedly broke the lock to enter the business, then proceeded to break into and tamper with numerous storage units.
Responding to the scene at approximately 9:34 a.m., officers were informed by the complainant, who had appeared while the burglary was in progress. The suspect was said to be in the act of removing items from the units; however, he fled the scene on foot, abandoning the stolen property as the complainant arrived. The incident has prompted authorities to request the public's assistance; anybody with information is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
While the investigation is ongoing, owners of the storage units are assessing the extent of the damage and missing items. The break-ins have unsettled the local community, with residents concerned about the apparent ease with which the security at First Choice Storage was breached and the brazenness of daylight burglaries.
