
A burglary at a Circle K store in Memphis has police on the lookout for a suspect who made off with a significant haul of cigarettes in broad daylight. According to the Memphis Police Department's news release, the theft took place yesterday, around 11:30 a.m. at the location of 1205 North Germantown Parkway.
The suspect, described as a dark-complexioned Black male, was seen wearing a face mask, a navy blue shirt, blue jeans, and green slides, fleeing the scene in an older model gray Nissan Sentra. The tags of which remain unknown, the car was carrying the man suspected of stealing 34 cartons of cigarettes from the store's office.
Local authorities are urging anyone who might have information about the crime to come forward. "Anyone with information about this incident should call Crime Stoppers at 901-528-CASH," the Memphis Police Department stated. This plea for community assistance underlines the importance of public cooperation in solving cases that impact local businesses and safety.
The Memphis Police Department has not released further details regarding the investigation, but continues to gather evidence. Security footage from the Circle K is being reviewed in the hope of identifying the suspect, who, at the time of the burglary, had his face partially concealed by a mask, and made off with the stolen goods in the aforementioned sedan. The store, caught in an unfortunate turn of events, is cooperating fully with the authorities.
