Be prepared for possible delays, as many projects will involve lane closures. MoDOT emphasizes that all work is contingent on weather conditions and may change without prior notice.
Upgrades and ongoing repair work are planned across various counties, impacting travel with operations such as pothole patching and mowing. In Boone County, for instance, pedestrian facility upgrades are set to begin on Missouri Route 763 near Pathersville Road roundabout on July 28. There will be temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures, directed by flaggers in the work zone during nightly operations from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., as per MoDOT's statement.
Callaway County drivers should brace for an extended project on Route H, with resurfacing work from Route J to U.S. Route 54. Single-lane traffic and flaggers with a pilot car for direction are expected through July. Meanwhile, U.S. Route 63 is undergoing interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway), causing traffic shifts and narrowed lanes, with completion anticipated by November 2026.
Significant work continues under the "Improve I-70" initiative. MoDOT indicates that new pavement construction on I-70 between Route B and U.S. Route 63 will carry on with expected intermittent and long-term lane closures. This part of the project should wrap up in 2027, continuing the pattern of infrastructural fortification we've been witnessing. Further south, in Camden County, Route D is slotted for resurfacing, with anticipated completion in August 2025.
