In a survey painting a largely sunny outlook, Minnetonka businesses have signaled their contentment with the local corporate locale. According to the recent City of Minnetonka's business survey, an overwhelming 98% of business leaders in the city are giving the thumbs up to the city's business climate. Falling well above the regional satisfaction line, nearly half of them rated it as nothing short of "excellent," a stark contrast to the less enthusiastic 22% excellent rating from Twin Cities metro business leaders.

Morris Leatherman Co., having run the survey earlier this year, reports that from their sample of roughly 400 Minnetonka business leaders, the data speaks for itself. While riding the wave of confidence, 96 percent of respondents looked forward to their company’s trajectory in the city with bright eyes. Among the 26 percent who didn't find any pressing issues plaguing their operations, those who did pinpoint inflation and the cost of living as their primary concerns, not to mention the ever-present cost of doing business.

Minnetonka isn't resting on its laurels, though. City officials plan to roll out strategies informed by feedback from the city council and the Economic Development Advisory Commission. At the core of their mission lies an intent to amplify the reach and impact of no-cost and low-cost business resources available through their economic development partners. This initiative aims to give local companies a leg up, potentially easing some of the concerns raised by the survey respondents.

The city is also set to enhance the Thrive Minnetonka brand, as told by officials to a local publication. Injecting a dose of storytelling into their communications strategy, the brand is their chosen vehicle to spotlight the success stories within the Minnetonka business community and to showcase emerging opportunities accurately reflecting the reality of the local market. It's an aspirational push to not only acknowledge the city's corporate fabric but also to weave future growth directly into its narrative.
