Drivers in Moniteau County should expect added travel time starting next week at the intersection of Route 87 and Route C. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will install temporary signals on Monday, July 14, as part of ongoing roundabout construction to improve traffic flow and safety.
The installation is part of a larger intersection improvement project that has been underway since early June. Due to the work, the normally two-lane spread will dramatically narrow down to one for all hours, stretching through fall.
MoDOT's website warns drivers to expect delays during peak hours due to the scheduled work. Drivers are urged to buckle up, avoid distractions like mobile phones, follow traffic signs, and slow down in work zones to keep both themselves and road workers safe.
MoDOT noted that all work depends on weather conditions and that the schedule may change. Drivers can check for updates using the provided link to stay informed.
S & A Equipment & Builders, LLC was awarded the contract for the project at a cost of $1,467,994.56 by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission. Drivers are reminded to follow MoDOT’s safety guidelines and use caution in work zones.
