The department's post highlighted local regulations regarding fireworks, noting that they are permissible within city limits only on July 4th and that those handling them should be "at least 16 years old or have someone 21 or older present," according to the Munford Police Department’s Facebook page. The department also urged residents to show courtesy by keeping fireworks away from homes, pets, and vehicles and to clean up after their celebrations.
In addition to fireworks safety, the Munford Police Department warned against drinking and driving: "Plan ahead with a sober ride if you’re celebrating with alcohol."
