Following a community tip, Napa Police Department officers apprehended Ramiro Ochoa Mendoza, previously identified as a person of interest. Mendoza was taken into custody in connection with the ongoing investigation. This comes after a social media update from the Napa Police Department, which thanked the community for its vigilance, as reported on their Facebook page.
The arrest coincides with the police's efforts to shed light on the suspected homicide of 47-year-old Noel Batres, found deceased under the 3rd Street bridge earlier this month. Authorities, who have been conducting an exhaustive investigation since the discovery, remain tight-lipped about the manner of Batres' death, and have encouraged anyone with information to step forward, Hoodline reports.
Detective Isabella Romero of the Napa Police Department has been identified as the primary contact for anyone possessing knowledge relevant to Batres' last known whereabouts or his social contacts within the critical timeframe. The public can email [email protected] or call her directly at (707) 257-9509 with any potential leads that may aid the ongoing investigation.
