It was a regular day on Lebanon Pike until a devastating incident claimed the life of 47-year-old motorcyclist Jeremy Whitaker. In a serious turn of events, 38-year-old Justin Brake has been charged with vehicular homicide by recklessness following the fatal collision that transpired on April 25.
The incident, which occurred in the 4400 block of Lebanon Pike, was initially shrouded in falsities. Brake, along with his girlfriend, Gabriella Wolcott, age 31, misled officers by claiming that Wolcott was the one behind the wheel. However, upon reviewing surveillance footage, fatal crash investigators uncovered it was actually Brake driving the vehicle. The surveillance was pivotal in showing that Brake had pulled out of a Walmart parking lot without making a complete stop or ensuring it was safe to merge onto the road, leading to the tragic crash. Currently, Justin Brake is being held on $110,000 bond.
Warrants have been issued for Wolcott's arrest, charging her with facilitation of vehicular homicide by recklessness, false reporting, facilitating evidence tampering, and facilitating driving on a suspended license, as reported by the Metro Nashville Police Department.
