The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office said that human remains found on Banner Quaker Hill Road in Nevada City last Monday, have been identified as 48-year-old Adrian Aaron Aaby of Grass Valley. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, which initially delayed identification, as stated by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office.
A father and son found human remains on the side of the road where it turns to dirt and reported them to authorities. The remains were confirmed to be human and sent to the Placer County Morgue for an initial examination on Tuesday. Autopsy results are still pending, as a final review by the pathologist is required. The information was also noted in a report from the sheriff’s office on Hoodline.
The family of Adrian Aaby has been notified of his death. According to the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office on their Facebook page, “It may take several weeks before NCSO receives the results,” as the investigation continues. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit or provide tips anonymously through the department’s crime tip webpage.
