The New Orleans Police Department is currently seeking public assistance to identify and apprehend suspects involved in a recent vehicle theft, according to information obtained from their news release. On June 29, at approximately 4:38 am, three individuals were captured by surveillance cameras at a business on South Broad Avenue, making a quick escape on foot shortly after their arrival in a black 2015 Kia Optima, which was later confirmed to be stolen from Algiers, LA.
The vehicle in question was subsequently located, recovered, and rightfully returned to its owner, however, the perpetrators remain at large; the NOPD has distributed images of the trio, hoping that someone might come forward with information that could lead to their capture and has urged anyone who can identify these individuals to contact the authorities. The New Orleans community is now aware of the incident, and the NOPD's efforts to ensure that residents feel secure in their surroundings by cracking down on vehicle theft and illegal possession of stolen property are well underway.
