The New Orleans Police Department is on the lookout for a suspect linked to a couple of burglaries that took place in June, one involving a vehicle and the other a residence. According to a NOPD News report, the individual is believed to have first struck between the night of June 14 and the morning of June 15, where they allegedly gained unlawful entry to a car parked on the 1700 block of Coliseum Street—you guessed it—and they didn't leave empty-handed.
In a subsequent incident on June 25, the same suspect is said to have illegally entered a home on the 2300 block of Louisiana Avenue and just like the first time, items were reported missing, the property that was taken included distinctly marked items: a black backpack and a green sweatshirt both adorned with the "Celtics" basketball team logo which might be easy to spot if you're out and about, so anyone with information has been urged to come forward and assist the NOPD in their investigation.
Furthermore, the NOPD urges anyone who might recognize the suspect from the images disseminated to contact them with any potentially useful information that could lead to an arrest, restoring a semblance of peace to those affected.
While the NOPD hasn't released further details on the suspect or the exact value of the stolen items, the public notice includes a visual aid—a photograph of the suspect—which they hope will help in identification and finally catching the individual responsible for these infringements on personal property, those with leads can reach out to the authorities, anonymity can be guaranteed for those who wish it, so don't hesitate if you know something say something.
