St. Louis Union Station is set to amp up the fun with the introduction of three new rides at its outdoor Wheel Park this coming August. As reported by KSDK, this expansion is part of a significant makeover, with the rides opening to the public on Aug. 28.

The unveiled attractions promise to quickly become key components of the park's lineup. St. Louis Magazine details that the new rides were developed by Icon Experiences, complementing existing offerings like the St. Louis Wheel, carousel, and miniature golf course. The Wave Swinger, a nostalgic swing ride, is themed after the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. The ride is designed to carry guests through the air, 25 feet off the ground, requiring riders to stand at least 48 inches tall or 42 inches with an adult companion to partake in the throwback experience.

Joining the Wave Swinger is The Flying Louie, a pirate-ship inspired ride that showcases broad sweeps high above the park, complete with striking views of St. Louis at 42 feet in the air. This ride imposes the same height restrictions as the Wave Swinger for solo riders or those with supervision. The Loco Motion, on the other hand, serves up a family-friendly mini spinning coaster that boasts 22 feet of twists and turns. According to First Alert 4, this attraction allows those at least 48 inches tall to ride alone or 36 inches with a supervising companion.

All three rides aim to enrich the experience for visitors and will be operational from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily, starting on their grand opening day. Union Station extends the invitation to purchase either individual ride tickets or combination tickets that also grant access to the site's other engaging attractions, as KSDK's report highlights. With the addition of these new features, St. Louis Union Station is looking to offer an even more varied and captivating experience for those seeking to blend historical appreciation with modern-day thrills.
