Last night, the calm of Roslindale Village was disrupted when part of a building's exterior crumbled, sending bricks tumbling onto the sidewalk of a bustling Boston neighborhood. According to a social media post by the Boston Fire Department, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. at 41 Poplar Street with no reported injuries, and the area has since been secured.

At the scene, authorities, including several police cruisers and a fire engine, cordoned off the area with caution tape as scattered debris lay near a bus stop bench outside Felix Barber Shop, the Boston Fire Department also added, waiting is what the firefighters are doing; they are currently waiting for building inspectors to assess the structural integrity of the edifice. This event took place across the street from Adams Park, a cornerstone of the Roslindale community, according to an NBC10 Boston report.
The owner of Felix Barber Shop, a business that opened in the village a month ago, stated that he was in the back room when the façade collapsed. At the time of the incident, no customers were inside the establishment.
Investigations into the cause of the collapse are ongoing, and officials have not yet released further information. The Boston Police Department, Fire Department, and Inspectional Services have been contacted for clarification. Nearby businesses are currently adjusting to the road closure and related disruptions. According to city protocols, the affected area will remain closed to pedestrians until further notice.
