Drivers in Norman should prepare for minor traffic disruptions as the bridge at the intersection of Lindsey Street and Classen Boulevard is set to undergo rehabilitation starting on Monday, July 7. According to an announcement by the City of Norman, the construction work will be conducted by Wyatt Contracting and is part of an ongoing effort to improve city infrastructure through the Bridge by Bridge Bond Program, which local voters approved back in 2023.
Diligently working to minimize inconvenience, Wyatt Contracting plans to complete the project in 75 days. "This work is expected to last for a duration of 75 days and will include minor traffic impacts," the city statement read. Motorists are advised to utilize alternate routes during the construction period to avoid potential delays. The project commencement was detailed in a notice on the City of Norman's official website.
Commuters and residents who frequently traverse the said intersection should prepare to adjust their travel plans accordingly during the construction phase. The city has pledged to keep the public updated on progress and any changes to traffic patterns as they occur. "Alternate routes are advised during this construction," the City of Norman statement projected, reminding citizens to plan ahead to seamlessly negotiate around the construction site.
