It has been one year since the Oakland community was shaken by the tragic death of 24-year-old Juliette Harris, known to her friends as "Ju-Let." The Oakland Police Department (OPD) took to social media to commemorate the anniversary of Harris's death and reiterated their call for public assistance in solving the case. According to the Oakland Police Department's post, the FBI has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, emphasizing the continued pursuit of justice for the San Diego native.
On that fatal night, shortly after 2:00 AM, the streets of International Boulevard became the scene of the crime. The OPD has been consulting the public in hopes of tracking down a particular vehicle of interest, possibly related to Harris's murder. In the early hours, native to the same streets where Harris was found, a white four-door Toyota Corolla with distinctive features was spotted: the car had tinted windows, a rear spoiler, and was missing hubcaps on the rear driver's and front passenger's sides. This information comes courtesy of Hoodline, highlighting the OPD's effort to publicize the car's description.
When first responders arrived on the tragic scene, they found Harris and attempted life-saving measures. However, despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. To shed light on the investigation, the OPD has released photos of the white Toyota Corolla, appealing for any witnesses to step forward. Anyone with information related to the vehicle or the victim is encouraged to aid the pursuit of justice by contacting the OPD's Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821.
