Yesterday morning, a fatal shooting rocked an illegal after-hours club in Oakland, leading to a homicide investigation by local authorities. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) reported to the scene in the 900 block of 85th Avenue following a ShotSpotter alert received just before 3:45 a.m., where they discovered a gunshot victim and evidence of the illicit activity.
The incident has not only left one individual dead but also resulted in dozens being detained as part of the ensuing investigation. Officers remained on-site to interview witnesses, and medical personnel pronounced the victim deceased upon their arrival. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed, awaiting notification of their family, the Oakland Police Department shared in a social media post.
Following the initial response, the OPD Homicide Section took charge of the case, delving into the circumstances that led to the tragic outcome.
