Oklahoma City experienced multiple shootings over the holiday weekend, resulting in the deaths of two young individuals. Yesterday, officers from the Oklahoma City Police Department found 17-year-old Jacob Crawford suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Heyman Street. He was transported to OU Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, according to News 9. Preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation may have preceded the shooting, but police have not yet made any arrests or released information about suspects.
Merely a day prior, another shooting claimed the life of 18-year-old Laililiana Willis. OKCPD responded to a call last Saturday and found Willis in a driveway at a residence on the 1800 block of NE 7th Street. After being transported to OU Medical Center, she too was pronounced dead. In a statement obtained by The Oklahoman, Sgt. Rob Robertson relayed that an argument at a party escalated to gunfire, resulting in Willis's untimely death.
At this time, no arrests have been reported in connection with the incidents. Authorities are asking anyone with relevant information to come forward and contact the Homicide Tip Line at 405-297-1200 to assist with the ongoing investigations.
