
In a recent incident near downtown Salt Lake City, two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle, with one woman suffering critical injuries, as reported by KUTV. The collision occurred just before 9:15 p.m. on Monday when a teen driver, navigating the intersection of 700 East and 200 South, hit a man and a woman in the crosswalk.
While the man received treatment at the scene of the accident, the woman was transported to the hospital for a significant head injury, her condition later deteriorating to critical status, according to KSL. The driver involved in the event is said to be cooperating fully with the Salt Lake City Police Department, and yet, as of Tuesday morning, authorities have not made any arrests or issued citations despite the grave nature of the event.
The ongoing investigation into this unfortunate event is being handled by the Salt Lake City Police Department's Crash Analysis Reconstruction team, as ABC4 notes. The involved driver remained at the scene, which suggests a willingness to assist with police inquiries.
