
Following the troubling gunfire that erupted near a graduation event in Forest Park, authorities have taken one suspect into custody while the search continues for another. Officials from the Forest Park Police Department announced the arrest of Rshombe B. Stripling, who now faces an aggravated assault charge in relation to the June 2 shooting, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta.
The incident took place near Kiwanis Stadium, on South Avenue where the celebrations were underway. Two individuals sustained injuries during the event, one was grazed by a bullet and the other suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. Concurrently, children were playing soccer on a field across the road, a scene which was disrupted by the sound of gunshots, leading to parents frantically retrieving their kids, according to a video shared with 11Alive.
The police continue to seek Kevin J. Freeman, the second suspect, warning the public that he should be considered armed and dangerous. Forest Park Police have issued a statement urging anyone with knowledge of Freeman's whereabouts to contact them immediately. They state: "Please be assured, the City of Forest Park Police Department will not rest until Kevin J. Freeman Jr. is apprehended and brought to justice," as per the information obtained by 11Alive.
