The Food & Care Coalition, a Provo-based nonprofit that extends its services to individuals and families in Orem, is facing a shortfall of essential supplies. In response, a "Christmas in July" campaign has been launched to encourage the public to not only donate necessities but also to potentially organize collection drives. The City of Orem Government underscored the importance of year-round support, stating, "the reality is that the needs of individuals experiencing poverty and homelessness in our community persist all year long."
Essentials, including shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, toilet paper, deodorant, and sleeping bags, have been cited as critically needed items. Monetary donations are also welcome, as they empower the organization to flexibly address the most pressing needs as they arise. The coalition also provides a host of other services, such as hot meals, housing assistance, and hygiene items that play a crucial role in supporting the lives of many in the local community.
