Violence erupted at a Game Stop in Colma yesterday when a heated argument over Pokémon cards led to a stabbing incident, leaving one person critically injured. The Colma Police Department reported that officers were dispatched to the store on Junipero Serra Boulevard at 9:22 AM following reports of a physical altercation. Upon arrival, Colma officers found one victim suffering from head lacerations and multiple stab wounds. Immediate medical aid was rendered before the injured party was transported to a local hospital, where they were listed in stable condition. According to the social media post from the Colma Police Department, the conflict began when one suspect, 49-year-old Miguel OrellanasFlores, attempted to cut in line, sparking a verbal altercation that quickly became physical.
OrellanasFlores allegedly struck the victim with a glass mason jar, and the second suspect, 27-year-old Isaiah Calles, is accused of using the shards of glass to stab the victim repeatedly. Both suspects had fled the scene when officers arrived, each in separate vehicles, a Honda and a Toyota. A quick response by local law enforcement led to the suspects being detained following the attack, with the Colma Police locating the Honda and the Daly City Police Department finding the Toyota.
The two San Francisco residents are now facing serious charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Following the arrests, OrellanasFlores and Calles were booked into the San Mateo County Jail. The Colma Police continue their investigation and have made an open call for anyone with information or video of the crime to come forward.
