The Court Assistance Military Offenders in Reno program offers veterans facing misdemeanor charges an option for diversion. “Participants can have their charges dismissed and may be eligible to have their records sealed within the timeframe specified by NRS 176A.295 (2),” as stated by the City of Reno. Created under Nevada’s 2017 legislative updates in NRS 176A.280, the program provides access to treatment and diversion services and is open to eligible defendants from other jurisdictions, including those in rural areas.
