
On Thursday, the Campbell County Sheriff's Office found a runaway juvenile on Ivey Hollow Road near LaFollette along with Dalton Clear, 22, and John Garner, 57. Clear became aggressive during the encounter, damaging a patrol car and injuring a deputy. The deputy was treated and released. The juvenile was taken to the Scott County Juvenile Center, and both Clear and Garner were arrested, as reported by the Campbell County Sheriff's Office.
The Campbell County Sheriff's Office released the charges for Clear and Garner. Clear was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, two counts of assault on an officer, one count of aggravated assault on an officer, and four counts of vandalism. Garner was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and harboring a runaway juvenile. Both were taken to the Campbell County Jail.
According to the Campbell County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, Sheriff Barton recognized the efforts of deputies and officers from the LaFollette and Jacksboro Police Departments for helping recover a runaway juvenile. During the transport of Clear to jail, his combative behavior led to a request for backup from LaFollette police. Multiple agencies worked together to manage the situation.
