Downtown San Francisco is slated to be abuzz with free music and dance once again as Another Planet Entertainment rocks the city with its final two concerts of their summer series. On September 7, Union Square will groove to the Daytime Disco vibes from Poolside, the nu-disco brand created by Jeffrey Paradise which, according to The San Francisco Chronicle, marks its first live performance in The City. Following this, Civic Center Plaza invites attendees to the Empire 15 concert on September 13 featuring Shaboozey, known for the crossover hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” Nigerian sensation Fireboy DML, and local talent Red Leather, jointly celebrating global pop music.

Shaboozey, not unfamiliar to the San Francisco scene after last year's knockout performance at Outside Lands, is coming fresh from the success of his three albums and a feature on Lil Nas X's record-breaking "Old Town Road"; he's set to headline the Empire 15 event, which doubles as a celebration for local record label Empire's 15th anniversary and The City's efforts to transform public spaces into music destinations, this has been part of broader efforts to inject energy and economic activity back into the downtown areas, as SF Standard reports.

Complementing Empire 15, Phil Ginsburg, general manager of SF Recreation and Parks, emphasized in a statement that the shows are "about making San Francisco's center a destination," a sentiment similarly echoed by Mayor Daniel Lurie who highlighted the economic impetus, affirming "When we bring energy back downtown, people from across the region come shop at our businesses, eat at our restaurants and drive our economic recovery," a statement obtained by The Chronicle.

The prospect of free live music has been part of Another Planet's pact with the city, allowing them the opportunity to host a one-day festival in Golden Gate Park following Outside Lands, this year featuring Zach Bryan and Kings of Leon on August 15 as shared by SF Standard; a continuation of the city's month-long adoption of Golden Gate Park as the prime venue also seeing performances from Dead & Company and the massive three-day Outside Lands pulling in an expected crowd of 250,000.

Free RSVPs for the downtown events are up for grabs, available via empire15.com and laylo.com/poolside/DaytimeDiscoSF.
