Craft beer aficionados have reason to gather at San Francisco’s Presidio this Saturday for the third installment of the Parks4All: Brewfest. This annual event is not only a celebration of hops and malt but also serves as a fundraiser for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy. The festival will feature an array of local breweries, food trucks, live music performances, and on-site merchants, all at the picturesque Civil War Parade Ground from noon until 4 PM.
The Parks Conservancy, using the event to support programs aimed at providing inclusive access to the parks, is getting a boost from the local craft beer community. KRON4 reported that visitors can indulge in top-tier beers while soaking in the stunning views of the Presidio of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. Offering everything from the hoppy delights of Fort Point Beer Co. to the alcohol-free options from Best Day Brewing, the event promises diversity in brewing excellence.
As per The Examiner, Mark DeVito, co-owner and chief operating officer of Standard Deviant Brewing, described the festival as "really neat for people to get out into that part of the Presidio and out into that part of The City who maybe haven’t been there before." His sentiment reflects the unique appeal of Brewfest in connecting people to one of the Bay Area’s natural jewels.
According to the event’s Instagram account, pets are welcome on leashes. This family-friendly beer festival also boasts activities suitable for all ages, including hands-on workshops and nature walks. Music will accompany the suds and bites, with bands such as The SoulShake and Soloist Sam Johnson expected to perform. And while adults can savor unlimited beer tastings with a souvenir mug, provided for those with tickets priced $45 and up, the festival is crafted to ensure a pleasurable time for all attendees.
As for the beers, local favorites and new players see Brewfest as a prime opportunity to engage with the community. East Brother Beer Co., which mainly focuses on distribution, uses the occasion to make an impression before opening their Metreon taproom in August. Rob Lightner, a brewery co-founder, told The Examiner that "it's fun to introduce people to those styles and have that one-on-one interaction."
