The shooting took place at approximately 3:30 PM yesterday, and no officers were injured during the event. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have yet to officially disclose the details of the individual whom the officers fatally shot. Neighbors reported seeing a significant police presence, with about two dozen police cars parked nearby.
This recent shooting incident occurred just a week after another tragic event in which San Jose police shot and killed Karim Kahn, a 37-year-old man said by police to have been involved in a family disturbance before brandishing a gun at the officers. The police chief is scheduled to address both incidents in a public statement at 3 PM on Monday.
Investigators are already working to thoroughly piece together the sequence of events that led to the stabbing and subsequent officer-involved shooting. According to information provided by KTVU, the stabbing victim has died, and the case is actively being treated as a homicide.
