The City of Sandy Springs has announced two upcoming community events: a Back to School Bash on August 5 and a Movies by Moonlight series starting August 8. The events are scheduled ahead of the new school year and are intended to provide family-friendly activities for residents.
The Back to School Bash will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at City Green at City Springs. According to the city’s website, the event will feature opportunities for families to engage with local law enforcement and emergency services. Attendees will be able to view police cars, fire trucks, and other emergency response vehicles, with a helicopter landing scheduled on Mount Vernon Highway. Additional attractions include a DJ and an inflatable obstacle course.
Sandy Springs will also resume its Movies by Moonlight series at the Heritage Amphitheater. The event invites families to bring blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy outdoor movie screenings on the amphitheater's tiered lawn. Concession stands will open at 7 p.m., with films starting just after sunset on a 30-foot inflatable screen. This year’s lineup includes The Parent Trap, A Goofy Movie, and Practical Magic. Admission is free for all attendees.
