San Mateo County Parks is kicking it up with some savory additions to Coyote Point Recreation Area. According to a recent San Mateo County Parks announcement, local food favorite Maverick Jack’s will bring their culinary A-game to the park starting August 9. Patrons can expect the classic chargrilled fare that has rocketed the San Mateo-based eatery to popularity, neatly dovetailing with weekends brimming with salt, surf, and sun.
Every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., from August to October, Maverick Jack’s will serve hamburgers, sliders, hot dogs, veggie burgers, and, let's not forget, fries. The pop-up stand is located next to Boardsports and the Bay Trail, offering a scenic view near the Magic Mountain playground, where kids will undoubtedly be getting their play on while parents nurse some well-deserved sustenance.
Parks Director Nicholas Calderon expressed excitement about the new addition, noting how it rounds off the Coyote Point experience. "We’ve been eager to offer on-site food services that complements the bay views, sand beach, and recreational facilities at Coyote Point. Though it took some time to make it happen, I know visitors will enjoy having a great meal from a popular local business in this spectacular location," he told San Mateo County Parks.
