A preliminary hearing held in Shelby County has resulted in Judge Greg Gilbert finding probable cause against defendant Fabian Gonzalez. Gonzalez, accused of criminal attempt – second degree murder, is said to have fired multiple shots at his intimate partner as she attempted to flee the scene. According to a social media post by the Shelby County District Attorney's Office, the incident involved the bullets hitting the ground close enough to the victim that "concrete bits fly up."
The ongoing case saw Gonzalez remain in custody, his freedom held back by a $125,000 bond set by the court. During the hearing, the victim conveyed a harrowing tale, recounting the terror of bullets striking the ground beside her. In an additional twist to the already disturbing allegations, the victim testified that this wasn't the first time Gonzalez had assaulted her.
