Snohomish County has partnered with LISC Puget Sound to initiate a community engagement strategy to amplify the voices of those often pushed to the margins. At the heart of this initiative is the newly launched Community Inclusion Survey, targeting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families, caregivers, and associated professionals. The objective is clear: gather insights to inform and enhance future services, programs, and advocacy work to foster a more inclusive environment for people of all abilities within the county.
The survey, an accessible tool that takes no more than ten minutes of respondents’ time, seeks to draw a comprehensive picture of the current landscape of inclusion in Snohomish County. Whether one is directly impacted by developmental disabilities or works to support those who are, the survey offers an important platform for stakeholders to contribute their experiences and perspectives. As noted in the City of Everett, "Your voice matters."
Emphasizing the importance of participation, the survey creators have ensured that it is available in multiple languages, broadening the scope of potential feedback. By closing the feedback loop, county officials and LISC Puget Sound aim to hear from their constituents and actively shape their strategies based on the community's direct input.
