
In a straightforward account of law enforcement activity in Socorro, Texas, local authorities reported the arrest of a young man on Tuesday afternoon, according to the City of Socorro, in a social media post, which began with officers of the Rescue Police Department carrying out routine patrol duties.
Traveling above the established speed limit, a beige pickup truck caught the attention of the patrolling officers on the 11900 block of Alameda Avenue. A traffic stop ensued, leading to the identification of the vehicle's driver as 19-year-old Sergio Chavez. At the time of arrest, Chavez had a pending arrest warrant, charged with Manufacturing and Distribution of a Controlled Substance, Penal Group 1B ( B 4G < 200G), which was issued by the El Paso Police Department.
Law enforcement authorities stated that Chavez was "taken into custody without incident." Following the procedure, he was transferred to the El Paso County Jail, where he faced the charges, which held a bond of $10,000.
