The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office recently announced the arrest of two individuals on various narcotics charges. An investigation led by the Special Investigations Division Narcotics Unit, in collaboration with the Field Operations Bureau Patrol Division, brought Tyron Enclarde and Marquel Canty into custody. The Sheriff's Office stated in a social media post that the operation also resulted in the confiscation of a firearm.

Enclarde, a 27-year-old resident of Violet, is facing multiple charges including possession with the intent to distribute cocaine/fentanyl. He has also been booked for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, crack cocaine, and Tapentadol; possession of drug paraphernalia; and two counts of resisting an officer. According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, the arrests are a result of a comprehensive effort to combat illegal drug activity in the area.

Canty, 28, from Poydras, was booked with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The seizure of a Ruger .40 caliber firearm from his person adds an elevated concern to his charges. Canty is further noted for having a prior felony conviction, as revealed by a criminal history background check.

Sheriff James Pohlmann emphasizes the importance of community involvement in rooting out narcotics distribution, urging residents to report suspected illegal drug activity. He reminded that calls to the Sheriff's Office narcotics hotline can be made anonymously and assured that all tips will be acted upon. The hotline, which citizens may reach at (504) 271-DOPE or 3673, represents an avenue for residents to contribute to the safety and well-being of St. Bernard Parish.
