St. Charles County Police Department has been keeping cool and productive amidst June's rising temperatures. The department took to social media to share some monthly highlights, proving that community involvement and emergency preparedness aren't put on hold for summer heatwaves.

In a heartwarming showcase of community policing, St. Charles County PD expressed thanks to PJ's Coffee for hosting their Coffee w/K9s event. "Hip hip hooray for coffee, K9's & beignets," their post began. Two beloved police dogs, Millie and Chili, were there to enjoy Puppuccinos and dispense "doggy kisses" to attendees. The event, highlighting the department's more approachable side, was a hit amongst locals who came to interact with their four-legged officers, St. Charles County Police Department detailed the day's festivities.

Furthermore, the department was grateful to The Synapsory for their donation of 20 additional Sensory Bags. These resources aid officers in calming children with autism during sensory overstimulation.

Continuing their engagement with technology and community services, Chief Kurt Frisz and Director of Technology John Yeast spoke at the Cottleville - Weldon Spring Chamber of Commerce meeting. They discussed the SCC Drone Unit, which is a collaboration between eight law enforcement agencies across St. Charles County. This initiative is part of a concerted effort to advance policing through technology. Beyond the meeting, several officers supported a cause by attending the 7th Annual Suntrup Automotive Group Golf Classic for Folds of Honor, where they encountered the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales. "After seeing the 'clean-up', that the Clydesdale handlers have, our K9 Officers don't mind the 'little' bags they have to carry," the St. Charles County Police Department joked on their social account.

St. Charles County Regional Emergency Management also hosted a tabletop exercise simulating an EF3 tornado touching down in the area. The event was a display of interagency cooperation, ensuring readiness should such a natural disaster occur. "It's encouraging to know that the #SCC Community is in such capable hands," stated the St. Charles County Police Department's post, emphasizing a proactive stance on safety and preparedness.
