The City of Surprise Parks & Recreation Department has announced that a number of parks across the city will face closures. These are for maintenance and upgrades, essential to keeping the spaces safe and welcoming, as reported by the City of Surprise.

The first closure on the list affects The Fields at Countryside, which began back on May 12 and will extend until August 31, according to the City of Surprise official release. Although the multipurpose fields are off-limits, the playground and restrooms remain open during the week and weekends, albeit with limited hours. And, for those pickleball aficionados out there, you'll need to plan around the temporary closures of the East and West Courts at Surprise Community Park later this month.

The dog parks at Surprise Community Park will be out-of-bounds from July 30 through August 20 – a bit of a headache for dog owners who frequent the area. If Fido still needs his exercise, the City of Surprise recommends using the dog park at Dick McComb Park during this period. Heads up, though: with maintenance also planned at Rescue Oasis Park from August 18 to 22, it's going to be a busy summer for public works.

For the little ones, or anyone looking to escape the heat at the Rescue Oasis Park & Splash Pad, mark August 18 to 22 on your calendars. The City of Surprise assures that the Oasis Swim Center won't be affected by the splash pad's downtime. For more details on the closures and the city's public recreational offerings, reach out to the City of Surprise Parks & Recreation Department at 623.222.2000.
