An 83-year-old resident of Dearborn was the victim of an alleged road rage assault this past Friday, prompting a police investigation that has since led to an arrest. The Dearborn Police Department responded to a report around 4 p.m. near Michigan Avenue and Nowlin Street, as per CBS News Detroit. The senior citizen suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently treated at a local hospital.
After the incident, police were offered a crucial hand by local citizens, who provided significant details to investigators, including a description of the suspect's vehicle, a dark green, older-model Chevrolet or GMC pickup truck. According to The Detroit News, this vehicle was spotted leaving the scene eastbound on Michigan Avenue.
Officials harnessed surveillance footage from nearby businesses, which contributed to the swift identification and apprehension of the suspect last Saturday, as FOX 2 Detroit reported. Dearborn's Special Operations officers detained the individual, whose identity has yet to be disclosed pending further investigation.
