The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that beginning July 28, the I-10 westbound on-ramp at Carrollton Avenue will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. for repair work. This closure, expected to continue through the end of August, follows a recent collision involving a garbage truck that damaged support beams and requires structural repairs.
The on-ramp will reopen each day after 4 p.m., allowing evening access. During the closure hours, drivers can access westbound I-10 via the Airline Highway entrance. DOTD crews plan to work seven days a week, weather permitting, to complete the repairs. According to DOTD, safety remains the top priority and thanked drivers for their cooperation during the work period.
In addition to the Carrollton Avenue repairs, DOTD confirmed that the I-10 westbound off-ramp to Airline Highway will fully reopen once construction is complete. This is expected to help reduce overall traffic impacts in Orleans Parish.
For updates on the project and related traffic information, DOTD advises monitoring official communication channels as further details become available.
