Early Friday morning, a shooting in northeast Memphis resulted in three men being injured, with two of the individuals sustaining critical injuries, as reported by police. The incident, which began with an argument and an attempted robbery, spanned two crime scenes: one was located on Fairoaks Avenue off Jackson Avenue, and the other approximately 2 miles away on North Graham Street.
According to the Memphis Police Department, officers responded to the scene on Fairoaks Avenue shortly before 1 a.m. They discovered two men with gunshot wounds; however, the third victim was found at an alternate location and was wounded but in non-critical condition, as they later learned from Action News 5. The shooting appears to have been the escalation of a confrontation and robbery attempt, with one victim's account to investigators that he was "hanging out with some guys" as per FOX13 Memphis, when an argument ensued, which was quickly followed by gunfire, leading him to escape in his vehicle and only later realizing he had been shot.
WREG disclosed additional details from the incident, stating that while police were providing aid at the first location, they received a call reporting another victim on Graham Street; this individual told authorities that he drove home after gunshots interrupted an argument and subsequently found he had been shot in the chest. Witnesses to the incident have also mentioned an argument involving a gun, adding to the narrative pieced together by the Memphis Police.
