Heads up, commuters—the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a scheduled roadwork on LA 3152 (Clearview Parkway). Starting today, at 7:30 PM, travelers can expect lane closures affecting both northbound and southbound directions until Friday at 6:00 AM, weather permitting. According to the DOTD announcement, the work zone stretches from the Huey P. Long Bridge to US 61 (Airline Drive).
The closures are part of an ongoing road construction project, H.015780. Starting each night at 7:30 PM and continuing until 6 AM the following morning, a single lane will be closed until 9:30 PM. Post-9:30 PM activities will see a double lane closure in place to allow for the construction of curbs, handicap ramps, catch basins, and concrete patching. This pattern is set to recur nightly until the end of the work week.
Local authorities are advising motorists to plan ahead and expect delays or seek alternate routes if possible. The construction is part of necessary upgrades and maintenance that are aimed at improving infrastructure and the safety of daily travel for Louisiana citizens. The partial closure of the mentioned lanes during the specified times is meant to minimize the impact on traffic and ensure the safety of the workers on site.
Maintenance and repairs of this nature are essential for keeping the roadways in good condition; however, they can cause inconveniences in the short term. As noted by the DOTD, these improvements will contribute to a more efficient and reliable transportation network once completed. Motorists in the area during the affected hours are encouraged to exercise caution and patience, and heed all traffic signs and directions provided by construction personnel for their safety and the safety of the construction workers.
