Commuters traversing State Route 9 (US 25W) in Jefferson County will need to adjust their travel plans due to road construction affecting the traffic pattern. According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation, starting today, vehicular flow will be confined to a single lane to allow the shift onto a newly constructed bridge over Rimmer Creek.
TDOT outlined that flaggers will be on site to direct motorists through the work zone, ensuring the transition, scheduled to be completed by 10 p.m. on the same day, happens smoothly. This lane reduction is critical to safeguard the crews and drivers alike as they navigate the congested space. Motorists should brace themselves to expect delays and are urged to exercise extreme caution in proximity to the workers.
This sequence of changes carries the caveat, however, that it is subject to agreeable weather conditions. Should Mother Nature prove uncooperative, the plans might face an unforeseen shift, compelling drivers to remain abreast of the latest updates.
