A tragic roadway incident led to the death of two individuals, one of them a child, and left another child injured last Saturday in Murray County. The accident, involving a single-vehicle, happened around the vicinity of U.S. Highway 77 and Sooner Rock Road, near Davis, Oklahoma.
According to reports by News9, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol identified the driver of the white Chevrolet Colorado as 55-year-old Donna Beaver from Davis. The vehicle she was driving, for reasons yet to be identified, left the roadway, crossed the median and struck a tree. The crash occurred at approximately 3:29 p.m. last Saturday, the victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Transported to Oklahoma City, the bodies awaited further examination by the State Medical Examiner’s Office.
Involved in the crash, a young male passenger was also killed. A second juvenile passenger, a female, sustained severe injuries and was airlifted to OU Children’s Hospital. As stated by OKC FOX, her condition was reported stable, despite leg, arm, and burn injuries.
A detailed account from KTEN, revealed that the Chevrolet, veering off the left side of the highway, not only crossed the center median but also navigated across the southbound lanes before going off the road and colliding with a tree. The condition of the driver prior to this series of tragic events is still under investigation, as is the accident's cause.
