
Residents of Stillwater were awakened this morning to a grisly scene as local authorities responded to a report of gunfire that left two individuals dead and another wounded. According to KFOR, the incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. in the 200 block of W Elm, where Stillwater police discovered the victims and quickly secured the area.
One suspect is now in custody regarding the homicide investigation, assuaging concerns of an extended danger to the community. As described by officials in a statement acquired by KOCO, there is "no ongoing threat to the public." The captured suspect's identity has not been released pending further investigation.
In addition to confirming the apprehension of a suspect, Stillwater Police provided details on the wounded individual's condition. The injured party, suffering from at least a gunshot wound according to the police report, was transported to a nearby hospital and is reportedly stable. Details about the victims or the circumstances leading to the shooting remain limited at this time.
