A house in Maury County was ravaged by fire yesterday afternoon, with two dogs found deceased inside the smoldering remains. According to WSMV, flames were seen shooting through the roof as fire crews arrived at the scene on Woolard Road after a 911 call was placed by someone who witnessed the fire.
Firefighters from the Maury County Fire Department battled the fire, which had engulfed roughly 80% of the home upon their arrival. Despite their efforts in extreme heat for close to three hours, they were unable to save the two dogs inside the residence. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, Maury County Source reported.
Efforts to contain the fire required an extensive response. A social media post from the Maury County Fire Department detailed the deployment of Engines 21, 28, 29, 30, 32, Tankers 21, 22, 23, and 28, Squad 21, District 30, Deputy 20, and Chief 20 to the scene. The post on Facebook expressed gratitude towards the Maury County Office Of Emergency Management and Maury Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) for providing rehabilitation to the firefighters and assistance during the initial operations.
