Atlanta residents were shaken by yet another incident of gun violence that occurred in their city. According to a report released by the Atlanta Police Department, two individuals were injured in a shooting yesterday. The victims, a 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, were later found at Grady Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and leg, respectively.
The police were summoned to the hospital around 4:01 PM after the pair managed to self-transport there following the shooting. Initial findings suggest the violent episode originated at 565 Greenferry Avenue SW. Despite their injuries, both the man and the woman were reported to be alert and receiving medical care upon the officers' arrival.
As stated by the Atlanta Police Department, "Both the male and the female were alert, conscious, breathing, and were being attended to by medical personnel." Investigators specializing in aggravated assaults were promptly dispatched to both the scene and the hospital to collect evidence and determine how the individuals were injured.
