
Clayton County Police were called to the scene of a drive-by shooting on Tuesday evening, where they found two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. As per a report by FOX 5 Atlanta, the incident took place around 5:40 p.m. in the 3100 block of Mt. Zion Road. Following the incident, deputies from the Sheriff's Office joined the police, escorting ambulances to the hospital to ensure the victims were quickly and safely delivered for medical attention.
Witnesses at the scene described a very active investigation as police combed the area for evidence, according to 11Alive. At the Bridgewater at Mt. Zion apartment complex, police tape cordoned off a part of the parking lot where the shooting reportedly occurred. Reportedly, a small child witnessed the harrowing event, spurring neighbors to voice their pleas for an end to gun violence.
Later that evening, around 8:30 p.m., the investigation was still said to be ongoing. 11Alive crews, stationed at the scene, observed two people being handcuffed and seated in police vehicles. A third individual was also detailed by the authorities, shedding some light on potential suspects being taken into custody amid the unfolding situation.
