Surprise Police have arrested two men, Daniel Davis, 52 and Todd Schlarbaum, 43, in connection to a spree of over 40 burglaries targeting vehicles and garages in the West Valley area, as reported by FOX 10 Phoenix. The burglaries, investigated between November 2024 and April 2025, saw the suspects allegedly exploit unlocked doors and make off with items including firearms, jewelry, and a golf cart. "On July 2nd, Surprise and Glendale SWAT teams executed search warrants at two different properties, covering over 25 acres and 16 structures," Surprise Police Department said. During the operation, police recovered stolen goods, firearms, and a stolen golf cart.

ABC 15 reported that the burglar duo is now facing at least 50 felony burglary charges each after being apprehended. The arrest followed extensive investigations involving license plate readers and surveillance footage that eventually pointed to Davis and Schlarbaum. Court documents detail how the suspects would smash vehicle windows, or utilize stolen garage door remotes to commit these thefts.

Doug and Sheryl Peller, residents affected by the string of burglaries, expressed their ordeal. "In the morning, Sheryl drives out on the driver’s side and notices that the driver’s window has been broken," Doug revealed in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. Sheryl added, "A lot of the ladies are single women living in the neighborhood, so they felt even more victimized and concerned because they are alone in the house."

Currently, both Davis and Schlarbaum are being held each on a $50,000 secured appearance bond. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, their preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 11. Nonetheless, the arrests have unfolded a narrative of pervasive vulnerability, breach of communal trust, and the relentless pursuit of justice by law enforcement officials.
